Conceived as Interstellar Instrumental Rock, Beta Cephei fuses guitar, Hammond organ and drums in a dynamically woven trio of high energy rhythms and transportive arrangements. Influenced by Deep Purple, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Voivod and Frank Zappa, Beta Cephei is a very different journey into heavy, groove oriented instrumental music. The focus being on short song structures that continually evolve, taking the listener through tunnels of sound built of seamless transitions that start in one place and end in another. Like the triple star system that it is named after, Beta Cephei is a project intent on capturing the raw and focused energy of these instruments orbiting and aligning with one another.

Beta Cephei is one of a number of projects by Joël Tibbits, a Vancouver-based multi-instrumentalist, composer, sound designer and writer.
